Lake Park Locations

Directions

Braunig Lake Park:

FROM THE NORTH: go south on IH 37 and take exit 130. Follow the signs.
FROM THE SOUTH: take exit 127 on IH 37 and follow the signs.

Calaveras Lake Park:

FROM THE NORTH: go south on IH 37 and take US 181 (exit 132) to Loop 1604. Go east on 1604 to Stuart Rd. (watch for the Calaveras Lake Park sign) and turn left. At the first stop sign (Bernhardt Rd.) turn left to enter the park.
FROM THE SOUTH: go NE on Loop 1604 to Stuart Rd. (see above).

Lake Characteristics
Location: In the San Antonio River watershed on Calaveras and Chupaderas creeks, 17 miles south of San Antonio on Highway 37 in Bexar County
Surface area: 1,350 acres
Maximum depth: 50 feet
Impounded: 1964

Water Conditions
Conservation Pool Elevation: summer 506.5 ft., winter 505.5 ft. msl
Fluctuation: 1-2 feet
Normal Clarity: Stained with visibility of 1-2 feet
Lake Characteristics
Location: 20 miles south of San Antonio off Loop 1604
Surface area: 3,624 acres
Maximum depth: 45 feet
Impounded: 1969

Water Conditions
Normal water levels: Summer 485.0 ft. msl, winter 484.0 ft. msl
Fluctuation: 1-2 feet
Normal Clarity: Moderately stained
